Playing Suited Connectors in Texas Holdem GamesWhen it comes to drawing hands in Texas Holdem, one of the best that you can play are suited connectors. However, as with any aspect of the game, it can be quite complex to play, with different options arising from the different situations that will emerge during the hand. The best suited connectors are of course those involving Aces and face cards. With those in hand, plus another one on the board, your Texas Holdem strategy should be to bet to see the turn. Even if you do not get the flush, you will most likely get a good two pair or set from it. In many cases, that may be enough to win the pot outright. However, with suited connectors like T9 down to 4-3, it requires different Texas Holdem strategies. In general, the lower the suited connector, the more important that you play them from as late a position as possible. Playing them in middle or early position entails a lot of risks on your part, as you are essentially blind. Y You do not know where you stand, and without the best hand, your options are severely limited. Do not take any unnecessary risks and simply fold the hand. Wait for a better one. If you are holding a 78 suited on the button, then you have additional options. If no one raises, then you can feel confident about making a bet or raise with this hand. Even if you get called, there is still a chance on the flop that you will get a set, which is lethal in Texas Holdem. Of course, being a suited, it still leaves open the possibility that you can get the flush or straight. However, your Texas Holdem strategy for suited connectors should include avoiding the chase. Always play to the odds and also to the highest possible flush. The last thing that you wan to do is to bet heavily when the flop turns up nothing. What you will be hoping for now is to get both the turn and river. That is a long shot, and if you are raised, you are in trouble. Playing suited connectors involves a lot of strategic planning in Texas Holdem, but the rewards can be big. If you want to be a good all round player, then you need to spend some time studying the possibilities and options for this hand. The more time you spend, the more money you will win. |
